DESCRIPTION:
J.C. Brown, Forestville Mfg. Co., Bristol, Conn., "Picture" shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day time and strike ribbed brass movement by Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, Conn. in a paper mache case with painted decorations and mother of pearl inlay
CONDITION:
The case is in very nice condition with and original finish. Two of the thirteen pieces of MOP inlay are missing and the areas painted black. The signed original painted dial is in very good condition with some strengthening of the numerals. The hands are original. There is a hole in the bottom left of the dial which allows the door knob to turn. We have seen this on other J.C. Brown picture clocks. This is the second J.C. Brown, Bristol, picture clock with a Brewster & Ingrahams movement we have sold at auction. The movement appears original to the case. The upper door glass is original. The lower door tablet with the image of J.C. Brown is original and in very good condition.
