DESCRIPTION:
J.C. Brown, Forestville Mfg. Co., Bristol, Conn., 8 day cottage shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day fusee time and strike movement in a rosewood and gilt decorated case.
CONDITION:
The rosewood veneered case with applied gold decoration is in very nice condition with original finish, and great stenciling. The original upper tablet has some loss to the gold spandrels. The original bottom tablet has significant loss. The dial has been repainted. The original interior label is protected and in excellent condition. The door knob is original ivory. The hour hand appears to be original, but the minute hand is an improper replacement. The movement is signed "Forestville Mfg. Co., Bristol, Conn.,.".
