DESCRIPTION:
Self Winding Clock Company, New York, "No. 10-A Self Winding Clock", spring driven movement with deadbeat escapement and battery wind mechanism in an oak case with 14 inch aluminum dial reading "Official Time / Western Union ".
CONDITION:
Case is in excellent condition, the finish having been nicely rubbed down. The aluminum dial is in very fine condition with strong lettering and the slightest of dents near the mounting screws. The case features additional Western Union signage. Original spade hands. The movement looks to be a Style "F" self-winding synchronized movement with Graham escapement and cut steel pinions, running at 120 beats per minute. Movement serial number is 57118. The mechanism has been neatly rewired to take modern D-cell batteries. Large brass-clad pendulum bob with wood pendulum rod. One of the better examples you will find.
