DESCRIPTION:
Eli Terry, Plymouth, Conn., 30 hour, time and strike weight driven wood movement outside escapement pillar & scroll shelf clock.
CONDITION:
Refinished mahogany case in nice condition has a replaced top, feet and skirt. Original painted dial is in nice condition for its age. Tablet has been repainted in place, but is not properly done as tablets for this early model had only three gold leaf borders - no bottom border. Hands may be later replacements. Dark but readable label inside. Replaced finials. Someone has taken the top half of the backboard and hinged to the lower half to allow access to the movement (a smart idea as the movement is attached to the dial and keeping the cords onto the inside hanging pulleys when installing the dial & movement is a real challenge).
