DESCRIPTION:
Spencer, Hotchkiss & Co., Salem Bridge, Conn., 8 day, time and strike weight driven brass movement flat pilaster and carved crest shelf clock.
CONDITION:
Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in nice condition has some veneer repairs on the door and base.The carved top with chimneys appears original, but not the type of carved crests generally found on these clocks. The right front foot has damage to one paw and the other foot has two paws missing. Key escutcheon is missing. The wood dial has been repainted and possibly replaced. Replaced bottom tablet. Hands likely replaced as they not the type usually found on these clocks. Clean label inside. Correct early style Salem Bridge movement.
