DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two) Mountain State Electrical Co., Wheeling, W. Virginia, "No-Key" clocks, weight driven brass movements with battery powered automatic winding, brass bases, arabic numeral white celluloid dials with blackened brass hands under glass domes.
CONDITION:
tarnished bases. Both with good dials and hands. Domes seem a little tall, but they match each other and fit the base perfectly. Some replaced wiring is evident. Electromagnets are used to periodically raise a small weight that causes a pawl to engage with a ratchet connected to the first wheel in the train. A very short-lived company that went into production in 1912 and was wiped out of business by a flood in 1913. Not many of these clocks have survived. These two are serial numbers "778" and "234". Sold "as is".
