DESCRIPTION: Kienzle GmbH, Schwenningen, Germany, 400-day clock for the French market, year running, time and calendar, spring driven brass movement with torsion pendulum, arched enamel dial with arabic numerals and subsidiary dials for day of the month and day of the week, black steel spade hands, all under a glass dome.
CONDITION: outside of base is a dull. Empty holes on the top of the front plate suggest that a crest is missing. Movement plates are bright. Perfect enamel dial with the weekdays abbreviated in French. Steel hands with a bit of oxidation. Old glass dome with bubbles and ripples at the top. Suspension is complete, but the guard is absent. Movement back plate layout corresponds to Terwilliger's plate 1601. Serial number 126387. Very good disc pendulum with matching serial number. Not many 400-day clocks with calendars turn up. This is a rare clock in good condition. Similar to clock number 21 in the section 6 of Terwilliger's book.
