DESCRIPTION: Gustav Becker, Freiburg, Germany, 400-day clock, year running, time only, spring driven movement in a four-column Empire style mahogany case with hinged top and central glass cylinder, arabic numeral white enamel dial, blued steel poker hands, and disc pendulum topped with brass sphere.
CONDITION: the wood case with original finish has some wear at the edges and some small scratches. Hinged lid has a is unlocked and there is no key included. Dial is excellent. Good central glass column to keep dust off the movement. Suspension is complete. The signed movement with Becker logo and gold medal award corresponds to Terwilliger's plate number 1207A. Serial number is 2088449. The pendulum is shown as example 29 in Terwilliger's book and is attributed to Becker. A particularly attractive 400-day clock.
