DESCRIPTION:
Samuel Abbott, Boston, Mass. and Montpelier, Vermont, 8 day, time and alarm weight driven brass movement patent or banjo timepiece.
CONDITION:
Refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case has some age cracks in the throat frame and bottom door veneer. Original painted dial has had the numbers and signature restored and now has a clear coating. The dial is fastened to the case with two L-turns. Both tablets are replaced with with the original cracked lower tablet included. The bottom bracket is probably a later addition. Original time and minute hand. Alarm hand may be replaced. Unusually shaped side arms. Good movement with Abbott's unusual shaped plates.
