DESCRIPTION:
Pond & Barnes, Boston, Mass., 8 day, time and strike, fusee spring driven brass movement, 4-column ripple molded round gothic or onion top shelf clock. Clock was made by Forestville Mfg. Co. and retailed by Pond & Barnes.
CONDITION:
Rosewood veneered case in original finish has a little damage on the top back edge. Three finials have tip damage or repairs and one has damage to one of the fins. Original acid etched and cut tablet, hands and bone knob. Original painted dial has age darkened with some paint loss. The back of the dial is an original J.C. Brown painted face that if used as the preferred face in this clock would not mate with the movement. The dial was probably painted on the wrong side, so in order to use it was flipped and repainted at the factory for use on this clock. Movement is signed Pond & Barnes. Clean dial inside.
