DESCRIPTION:
J. Whitaker, Guisborough, North Yorkshire, England, long case wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven brass movement in an oak case with signed painted metal dial and black steel hands.
CONDITION:
the oak case is in decent condition with some scratches and scuffs on the outer edges. The dial spandrels appear over-painted in an incorrect style. The chapter ring and dial center appears to be original. The hands are mismatched, the minute hand incorrect. The movement has an unusual second arbor with a very large pinion. The end of the crutch has broken off and is included with the lot. Pendulum is a replacement.
