DESCRIPTION:
Ansonia Clock Co., New York, NY, "Fisher" figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement with visible escapement in a cast metal case featuring a female figure in the act of fishing with a trident, roman numeral enamel dial with Louis XV style gilt hands.
CONDITION:
the black metal base is in good condition with a few very small chips to the finish. The clock case, spelter figure, and applied metal ornaments have been restored with a dark bronze finish. The trident is a replacement. The dial has yellowed slightly and has two fine hairlines in the sunk portion. Good hands. Steel pallet jewels. Thick beveled glass with a few small scratches. The movement is signed and comes with the proper offset style of Ansonia pendulum.
