DESCRIPTION:
Ansonia Clock Co., New York, NY, "Eureka (base with Group No. 1099 figure)" mantel clock with a spring driven, 8 day, time and half hour strike visible escapement movement in a bronze finished spelter and black enameled iron case.
CONDITION:
The case is in good condition with most of the original bronze finish now gone. The battle axe handle has been shortened and there is a small hole at the top of the horse. The porcelain dial is in excellent condition with no chips or hairline cracks. The hands are original. The rack and snail strike movement is signed. The statue seems a bit deep for the case top but since it was available as a separate item, it may not have matched this specific base.
