DESCRIPTION:
Music box, possibly Swiss, housed in a mahogany veneered case with ebonized base, burl inlaid panels on top, front and sides, ebonized interior with birds eye maple veneer on the lid, cast brass carrying handles at the sides, 11 inch brass cylinder comb, start/stop and repeat tune lever, zither attachment and tune indicator with 6 selections
CONDITION:
case has dirt, loss of finish, scratches and some areas missing veneer, the top has some cracks and minor bubbling of inlaid panels; unit is in overall good shape although spring barrel wheel has rust on the winding pawl, wheel arbor and the cylinder drive shaft; comb appears to be intact; key to top is missing; unit is working although the stop lever may require attention
