DESCRIPTION: Rockford Watch Co., Rockford, Illinois, a late 19th century grade 103 pocket watch, 16 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and lever set, two tone damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance in a very attractive 14 karat, yellow gold, engraved, scalloped edge hunting case, roman numeral, outer red 5-minute markers double sunk white enamel dial with blued steel hands, serial #384850, 124.3g TW
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case and on cuvette; Two hinge plugs absent; Acrylic crystal; Crystal a bit too high; Bow with minor wear; Crown shell worn through; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Faint hairlines and numerous very fine scratches. HANDS: Minute and seconds are incorrect replacements. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Small clusters of scratches at barrel bridge screws; Minor gouge at balance cock screw; Winding wheels with spots of oxide; Regulator assembly with oxide; Hazy; Dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
