DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a late 19th century model 1883 "Crescent St." pocket watch, 18 size, 15 jewel, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, and Church micrometric regulator in a gold filled, reeded edge hunting case with applied, rose gold locomotive, arabic numeral, double sunk O'Hara multicolor enamel dial, the center with polychrome scene featuring a locomotive pulling a tender and two cars, Louis XIV gilt hands, serial #5713088
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Dings and minor dents; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches and polishing marks on cuvette; Engraving with moderate wear; Lacking crystal; Pendant now set with a turquoise colored bead. DIAL: Scratch and small chip at 9:00; Scratch at edge, 3:00; Hairline at 5:00. HANDS: Good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine and very fine scratches on plate; Regulator assembly with minor oxide; Burr at one case screw sink; Dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
