DESCRIPTION: Pennsylvania, a shelf clock in an unsually styled mahogany and mahogany veneered case with fretted scroll work top and scrolled sides, roman numeral embossed painted metal dial, diamond form hands, and eight day, time and strike weight driven brass movement with lantern pinions and the strike on the left side
CONDITION: overall very good condition with an old finish, dial has scattered loss at the chapter ring and the corners, hands look to be original and are the type generally found on the German wag clocks, pendulum crutch wire is between the plates and attaches to the pendulum rod through a slot in the front plate, replaced mirror, gong is attached to the backboard in a manner similar to that found on a cuckoo clock, the top crest might be a later addition as both sides of the pierced fret are veneered which is an unusual feature for this period.
