DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a model 1899 "Riverside Maximus" with wind indicator, 16 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 6 positions, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, diamond endstones, gold jewel settings, gold wheel train, and whiplash micrometric regulator in a 14 karat yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, engraved open face case, arabic numeral, triple sunk white enamel dial with wind indicator at 12:00, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #15062059, 79g TW
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Band with shallow dent; Back with a few shallow dents; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Localized case knife scratches on cuvette; Rear cover with minor gap at band when closed; Acrylic crystal; Bow replaced; Crown shell worn through; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: A few flakes at edge, 1:00; Center of wind indicator now filled with soft dial repair material. HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few fine scratches on train bridge; A few short scratches on balance cock adjacent to endstone setting; Specks of oxide on winding wheels; A few screw heads with minor marring and specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
