DESCRIPTION: Elgin National Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, a late 19th century gold pocket watch, 15 jewel, stem wind and lever set, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance with gold screws in a 14 karat, yellow gold, engraved, scalloped band hunting case, roman numeral, single sunk O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial with gilt Louis XIV hands, serial #3875890, 57.1g TW, together with an associated jeweler's box
CONDITION: CASE: Dents; Front cover with removed monogram; Front cover lift spring a bit weak; Fine scratches on cuvette; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: A few tiny edge flakes and hairline at 8:30. HANDS: Tarnish. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; A few scratches and marks at case screws and on balance cock foot; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). Box with wear.
