DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a late 19th century model 1872 pocket watch, 16 size, 15 jewel, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, and Woerd micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, rose gold, engraved, hinged back and bezel, faux box hinge open face case with engine turned band and engraved monogram on rear cover, arabic numeral, single sunk O'Hara multicolor enamel dial with blued steel Breguet style hands, serial #1915931, 120.5g TW
CONDITION: CASE: Shallow dents; Dents at edge of rear cover; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches and spot of abrasion on inside of rear cover and cuvette; Engine turning and engraving with moderate wear; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very faint hairline at 6:00, otherwise very good. HANDS: Good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine and very fine scratches on plates; Balance cock foot with scratches; A few spots of corrosion; Ding at regulator scale; Winding wheels with fine scratches and minor oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Scratches and minor gouge at one bridge screw; One bridge screw with spot of oxide; Balance upper endstone setting marred. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Low amplitude, needs service.
