DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a mid 19th century model 1860 "Appleton, Tracy & Co." pocket watch, 16 size, 15 jewels, key wind and set, adjusted gilt plate movement with lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance with gold screws in a coin silver, engraved hunting case, roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial with blued steel spade hands, serial #280134
CONDITION: CASE: Dings; Small spots of oxide; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on cuvette; Hinges loose; Front cover extends beyond 90 degrees when opened, 100 deg.; Cuvette snap worn; Bow loose; Pusher with minor wear; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Faint hairlines; Abrasion above seconds bit. HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; Scattered spotting; Small spot of corrosion; Some steel components with minor oxide; Dirty. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
