DESCRIPTION: Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., an early 20th century gold "922" pocket watch with original box, 12 size, 23 jewel, stem wind and set, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism, damascened nickel bar movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, gold wheel train, and whiplash micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, white gold, hinged back and snap bezel open face case with engraved dedication and maker's details on gold cuvette, and engraved monogram on back cover, arabic numeral silver dial with silhouette of a tall ship at the center and blued steel hands, serial #3055826, 59.3g TW, with original silk and velvet lined celluloid box.
CONDITION: CASE: Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on cuvette; Bow and pendant with tiny dings; Pendant with vertical gouge at left, immediately adjacent to bow; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very fine scratches on raised elements, otherwise very good. HANDS: Minute replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Numerous fine scratches and pin pricks on plate; Ratchet wheel with scratches at jewel setting; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Screw heads with minor marring. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). Box very good.
