American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a model 1908 "Vanguard" pocket watch, 23 jewel, stem wind and set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, diamond endstone, gold jewel settings, and Ohlson micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, engraved, scalloped band hunting case with applied four color gold ornament, the back with central diamond, and with engraved presentation on gold cuvette, arabic numeral single sunk O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial with gilt Louis XIV hands, serial #19086444, 100.1g TW, with associated box.
CONDITION:
CASE: Tiny dents; Cuvette with dent at center from diamond; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Very fine scratches on cuvette; Front cover with very minor gap at band when closed; Acrylic crystal; Bow with a few dings, one significant; Crown worn and lacking shell; Precious metal content marked; Diamond tested. DIAL: Cracks and losses. HANDS: Minute with tarnish. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches and tiny dings on plate; Very fine scratches on winding wheels; Regulator with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). Box good.
