DESCRIPTION: Elgin National Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, a "B.W Raymond" grade 390 pocket watch with wind indicator, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, temperature and isochronism, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws and diamond endstone, gold jewel settings, and micrometric regulator in a nickel, swingout open face case with gold locomotive on back, Montgomery arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial with blued steel hands, serial #15900037
CONDITION: CASE: Numerous dings and pin pricks; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Evidence of localized corrosion; Very fine scratches and dings on inner surface of case; Bezel with gap at dial; Locomotive with minor losses; Bow replaced; Crown with minor wear. DIAL: Hairlines; Cracks and filled losses on wind indicator; Small filled chip at edge. HANDS: Good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches and pin pricks on plate; More significant scratches and minor gouging at case screws; Regulator assembly and some screws with specks of oxide; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Wind indicator functional.
