DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., an early 20th century model 1894 pocket watch with gold hunting case, 12 size, 17 jewel, stem wind and set, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, and Church micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, engraved, faux box hinge hunting case with applied, four color gold ornament, the front with shield, foliage and flowers, the back with foliage and flowers below a pair of rose gold birds, very attractive roman numeral, single sunk O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial, signed "Anna L. Silveira Rua. Jackson No. 76 San Francisco", gilt Louis XIV hands, serial #15896278, 72.6g TW, with silk and velvet lined mahogany box
CONDITION: CASE: Shows extra case screw marks; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Front cover with minor gap at band when closed; Front cover hinge tube split at joint with cover; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: A few tiny edge flakes, otherwise very good. HANDS: Tarnish; Hour hand loose. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine and fine scratches on plate; Balance cock with dings; Ratchet wheel with fine scratches and specks of oxide; Click and some screws with specks of oxide; Regulator broken and with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Not running, out of action, good staff; Setting functional. Box with dings and scratches, top with warp, interior with wear and losses.
