Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., "3992B" Navigation Master Watch for the British navy with box, 16 size, 22 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted to 6 positions and temperature, straight line damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, double roller and whiplash micrometric regulator in a base metal, screw back and bezel, open face case with ordnance department information engraved on case back, and arabic numeral, white painted "Work Study" (NATO) dial, painted steel hands, serial #3C122, c1942, with wooden deck watch box.
CONDITION:
CASE: Numerous dings, marks, and scratches on outer surface of case; Dings; Losses to plating; Bow and crown with scratches, dings, and plating loss; Acrylic crystal. DIAL: Minor mark between 5 and 6:00, otherwise very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches and pin pricks on plate; Crown and ratchet wheel screws blued; Sweep seconds tension spring with scratches and minor bends; A few screw heads with minor marring. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Hacking and setting functional. Box refinished; Dings, minor scrapes and scratches; Foam shock mounts deteriorated, upper liner detached, the lower now rigidly fixed to the bottom.
