DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a late 19th century model 1883 "Appleton, Tracy & Co." pocket watch, 18 size, 15 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, gilt, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, and Church micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, engraved, box hinge hunting case, arabic numeral, single sunk O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial with Louis XIV hands, serial #4614063, 146.5g TW
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; A few minor dents, front; Back with a few shallow dents and shallow crease; Cuvette with shallow dent corresponding to crease on case back; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on cuvette; Lift spring not opening front cover; Acrylic crystal; Crystal loose; Bow tight; Crown with minor wear; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Edge flakes and small chips concealed by bezel, otherwise very good. HANDS: Tarnish. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; A few more significant scratches on barrel bridge, adjacent to balance cock foot and near case screws; Regulator assembly with minor oxide; One case screw replaced. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
