American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a late 19th century model 1883 "Crescent St." pocket watch, 18 size, 15 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, and Church micrometric regulator in an 8 karat, yellow gold, engine turned and engraved hunting case, arabic numeral, single sunk O'Hara style multicolor enamel dial with gilt Louis XIV style hands, serial #5507448, 109.7g TW
CONDITION:
CASE: Shows one extra case screw mark; A few small dents, band and front cover; Back with a slightly larger dent; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Small dent and very fine scratches on cuvette; Rear cover with gap at band when closed; Crown lacking shell; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Two hairlines and fracture at center, now partially obscured by gold paint; Chip at edge concealed by bezel, 10:00. HANDS: Minute replaced, short. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Balance cock screw with minor oxide and marring to head. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
