DESCRIPTION: Andre Rousseau, Paris, a large Louis XV bracket clock, the waisted Boulle work case with turtle shell veneer, fretted and engraved brass inlays, and gilt foliate mounts, the interior of the back and case bottom also with fretted and engraved inlay, the door with rocaille ornament flanking two seated figures, and the top with floral pendants and surmounted by a seated female figure, the cast dial with ornamental center, roman numeral white enamel cartouches, and blued steel hands, the two train brass movement with rectangular plates, tapered baluster pillars, large spring barrels, and signed "Andre Rousseau Paris", now with an anchor escapement, together with a Boulle work bracket with gilt mounts
CONDITION: front door glass broken, lacking side glasses, mounts lacking gilding, split at lower left, removable top a replacement, dial and hands good, movement ticks and strikes, the escapement is a 19th century conversion, bracket with minor lifting to inlay, veneer blisters, and lacking gilding on mounts
