DESCRIPTION: England, unusual mantel or table regulator with coup perdu escapement and center seconds, mahogany case, framed glass back door, brass ball feet, bottom board bears te stamp of "Khan, Fine Arts Dealers Dublin", roman numeral silvered dial and blued steel spade hands, brass eight day movement with pendulum lock, single chain fusee powering an unusual form of a coup perdu (lost beat) escapement mounted on the back plate which allows the seconds dial to operate with a pendulum that is half beating
CONDITION: case has significant signs of breaks and repair; particularly on the crown and the inside left panel, otherwise the outside finish is good with some chips, blemishes and bubbling, two identical trademarks are faded; movement and case by association and dial made to fit the movement, numerous strike components missing and dial with significant modifications; bezel catch is missing and will not close, crutch has been bent to adjust the swing, timepiece is ticking
